Indian mobile lovers are likely to get Nokia's first touch-screen phone Nokia 5800 by November, 2008. The new touch-screen mobile will be launched under Nokia's music platform ‘XpressMusic’ series at a price of Rs 20,000. The new touch-screen Nokia 5800 is supposed to give a tough challenge to high-priced iPhones. The touch screen phones like Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Omnia are priced more than Rs 30,000 in India. As a result, Nokia will be in a favorable position to fetch greater market share in India with its latest touch-screen phone.
The new Nokia 5800 incorporates 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens. It also has a virtual QWERTY keyboard with great look and finish that will easily compete with the other touch-screen phones available in the market. With 8 GB memory, Nokia 5800 offers all music essentials. It also has built-in surround sound stereo speakers and supports all digital music formats. According to the managing director of Nokia India, D Shivakumar, the introduction of Nokia 5800 will help to build up the market for touch-screen devices in India.
