Nicolas Sarkozy, the French President, has been discharged from hospital on Monday after suffering a fainting fit while jogging at the weekend.
Sarkozy was shown leaving the hospital on foot and smiling, although it was not known if he was returning to work or taking leave.
Presidential staff said that the 54-year-old had been exhausted due to his workload.
Sarkozy was admitted to the Val-de-Grace military hospital on Sunday after having suffered a suspected attack of vasovagal syncope.
