This can give Yahoo something to think about. The cat and the mice game which Yahoo has been playing with Microsoft, ever since the giant software company has expressed its will to takeover Yahoo, might soon come to an end. Microsoft is planning to join hands with media tycoon Rupert Murdoch’s company News Corporation for jointly bidding for Yahoo.

 

It should be noted that earlier Microsoft had offered Yahoo US$ 44.6 million which Yahoo had rejected saying that the money is not enough. It had asked Microsoft to raise its offer. Now if News Corporation joins hands with Microsoft, then it may become very difficult for Yahoo to remain independent.

 

According to sources, there is still a long way to go before anything is finalized. If the bid is successful then all three websites Yahoo, MSN and My Space would come under one umbrella. Speculations are also that News Corp can participate in the bid independently, but if a joint bid is made then it is sure to have some butterflies flying in Yahoo's stomach.
