Scientists are on their way to develop a new pill that could not only help boost the sex drive in both men and women, but also have the capability to encourage weight loss. This development can make Viagra useless. According to experts there is a decreased sexual desire among men who are stressed out. The loss of libido is believed to affect more than third of women and about one in six men.

Scientists and researchers led by Professor Robert Millar initially thought that the drug would work only on women, but they now believe that it could be as effective on men as well. Professor Millar said that this drug would actually cut out the need for Viagra completely. Viagra does not produce the desire for sex; it simply leads to an erection. He added that this drug would arouse and produce that desire for sex at the same time and will be effective in both men and women.

The drug is also believed to have a side-effect of encouraging weight loss and could have the potential to boost the fertility rates as well. Several tests were performed on animals at first. After these tests were successful, researchers in Edinburgh are currently working on a drug for humans. The researches on the animals proved that when the monkeys received injections in laboratory tests, they demonstrated mating behavior towards their partners.

Professor Millar noted that the stimulation of libido would mean a great deal to a large number of people and it is very exciting that science had made so much progress.
