Air India has mentioned that it will be launching two direct flights to US next month – one will be between New York and Delhi and the other is between Mumbai and Washington.
According to a spokesperson of AI, “Many people want to fly Washington directly and a need has been felt. This will happen from October 25.” The time of the last Delhi-Mumbai flights has been revised to 9 pm so that it can accommodate more business travellers.
The cash-stripped national air carrier has plans for attracting the travellers from Bangkok, who want to travel to US, to opt for flights from Mumbai. This decision has been adopted after the Dhaka flights were successful.
The airline has a market share of 16.6% in the domestic market and over 33% of the international passengers from India.
