Neil says that the role of Nandu in ‘Lafangey Parindey’ was not that easy to play and it was a challenge. But, his performance like the one given by Deepika has got some good reviews coming on his way.
The actor adds, “It wasn't easy to play 'One Shot Nandu. There were layers to this character and everything had to be understated. The characterization and mood of the film was such that things had to be conveyed in a subtle manner rather than on-your-face. This only makes the job of an actor further difficult.”
Indeed Neil has learnt a lot from his ‘Aa Dekhe Zara’ and ‘Jail’ time and this movie gave him a perfect platform to achieve a distinction. Even he has played the role of a Mumbai tapori, but still the reflection of his urban look is still there.
But, Neil has some different thoughts here and he says, “What one should look at is whether the character worked or not. Since when did looks start becoming so important? On one side we accuse stars of not thinking beyond their looks. On the other hand when someone, who could have been content doing metro sexual roles film after film, tries to experiment, we start debating even that. It's just not fair.'
But, all is going well for Neil, his amazing attitude and the green signal to the film will really get him some other great offers as well.
