The NDTV group and NBC Universal, who are prominent names in the field of media and entertainment, have declared their strategic alliance initiative for the NDTV Networks business. The NBC Universal (NBCU) now holds an effective indirect stake of 26 per cent in NDTV Networks PLC through shares subscription for US 150 million dollars.
The choice of increasing its stake in two years is available to NBC Universal, at the then fair market value, in the holding company of Networks PLC to 50 per cent with NDTV group holding an equal 50 per cent stake. Both being prominent names in the Networks business, the alliance between these two media firms with identical aims has all potential to become a significant force in media scene in India and abroad.
