The National Commission for Women has decided to form certain guidelines for the airline industry, which will ensure that the female employees have better working conditions. This decision has been adopted by the NCW in waked of the increasing number of complaints of the female employees of the airlines. The Commission may also be coming out with a report regarding the same by the end of this month.
This step is being adopted, even while the sub-committee of NCW is probing into the issues which happened in the Air-India’s flight IC-884 earlier this month. An Air India air hostess had alleged molestation and assault by a pilot onboard and complained to the Commission.
Speaking on the issue, NCW chairperson Girija Vyas said on Tuesday that the sub-committee’s feedback has not been very much positive. We will speak to private airlines and examine the rules in place. We will recommend certain changes to reduce conflict within the workplace,’’ Vyas said.
