The Kerala unit of the Nationalist Congress Party has decided to request Sharad Pawar to dissolve its state committee.

According to NCP state president, K. Muraleedharan, they had decided to recommend to Pawar dissolution of the state committee so that elections are held for a new one by December.

This decision was taken after Muraleedharan's attempt to take the party into the Congress-led United Democratic Front failed.

This move left the erstwhile leadership of the NCP in a quandary and following stiff opposition from within the NCP itself, Muraleedharan has been making attempts to join the Congress, which too has not gone down well with the Congress.

Asked if he was planning to join the Congress, Muraleedharan said: "In politics none can ever predict what the future holds."
