Launching of an unmanned rocket, Atlas V, to the moon is being planned by NASA. NASA wants the rocket to be launched on Thursday, 18th June.  The mission of an unmanned rocket to the moon is the first in this decade.

The space agency, NASA, had earlier announced that it has the plans for the launching of the unmanned rocket on Wednesday. But the launch of this rocket to the moon had to be postponed to Thursday because the launch of the space shuttle, Endeavour, had to be postponed to July, due to the leak of the lethal hydrogen gas. The time for the launching of the unmanned rocket to the moon could not be set until the plans for the launch of the Endeavour the space shuttle had been decided.

The robotic probes in the rocket for the moon will search for any area having hidden ice. The cost of this unmanned moon mission is about $583 millions. Three split second times are there for NASA during which the launch of the unmanned rocket, Atlas V, will be tried. The times are at 5.12 pm, 5.22 pm and 5.32 pm EDT. According to the spokesperson for NASA, Ashley Edwards, the weather forecast for the lunch of Atlas V is favourable.
