Leading Internet search engine, Google in collaboration with NASA released a new Mars mode in Google Earth. The new mode will enable the users to get a high-resolution, three-dimensional view of planet Mars. The Google Mars 3D also offers the researchers to share data in addition to enhance the knowledge of the general people regarding the Red Planet.

The new mode offers a virtual representation of the planet and the users can explore the enormous canyons and scale huge mountains on Mars that are much larger than any found on Earth. Google Mars 3D also enables the users to unravel the mysteries of the Red planet through the eyes of the Mars rovers and other Mars missions.

Google will provide its users with some of the latest satellite imagery from NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and other satellites orbiting Mars. The viewers will also be informed about the new discoveries made in space research. The users of Google Mars 3D can also add their own 3D content to the Mars map and share with others.

NASA's Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California signed a Space Act Agreement with Google in 2006. The latest launch was a part of that Google-NASA tie-up. Google along with Ames Research Center developed the data for this new project.
