Sudhir Nanavati has submitted his report to the BCCI regarding the salpgate incident between Harbhajan Singh and S Sreesanth. Nanvati has submitted his 14 page report but said that he cannot recommend punishment. Nanavati said that since he had been appointed by the BCCI to inquire about the incident he can't recommend punishment to the guilty. Nanavati was appointed under rule 32 of the BCCI according to which the board president can appoint a commissioner to help the disciplinary committee.
Nanavati told that he has submitted his reports to the board president Sharad Pawar who will forward it to the disciplinary committee. It is up to the committee to decide the punishment to the person found guilty. It is to be noted that in an IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab, Harbhajan Singh slapped his Indian counterpart Sreesanth who immediately broke into tears. This constitutes level 4 offence of the ICC which can even lead to life ban.
