Nalin Surie has taken over Shiv Shankar Mukherjee as the High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom after the retirement of the latter. Nalin Surie is an Indian Foreign Service officer from the 1973 batch.
The Letters of Credence will be presented by Nalin Surie to Queen Elizabeth very soon. Before being appointed as Indian High Commissioner to the UK, Nalin Surie had been the Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs, in New Delhi.
Surie has served the Indian missions in Hong Kong, Brussels, Dar-es-Salaam, Thimphu, New York (as the Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN), Warsaw (Ambassador) and Beijing (Ambassador).
