N Rangasamy, the chief minister of Puducherry has resigned from the post. By doing so, he has concluded a month-long political indecisiveness after Rangasamy's cabinet colleagues revolted against him. It was apparently after a directive from the Congress chief that N Rangasamy handed over his resignation letter to Lt Governor Govind Singh Gurjar at the Raj Nivas.

Confirming the news, Lt Governor Govind Singh Gurjar told the media later that N Rangasamy had given over his resignation as well as his council of ministers. He also informed that he had asked the former Puducherry CM to continue in office till any other arrangement was made.

The resignation letter of N Rangasamy has been forwarded to the President. The Congress chief asked N Rangasamy to step down from CM's post after he failed to attain a majority among the party MLAs at the CLP meeting on Monday. A CLP meeting was convened by the AICC to elect the new leader.
