British singer Myleene Klass doesn't regret using a knife to scare intruders off her property, insisting she would ‘do anything’ to protect her baby daughter.

The former Hear'Say star-turned-TV presenter claims she was reprimanded by authorities for waving a kitchen knife at two teens she spotted peering into her home in Hertfordshire, England on Saturday (09Jan10).

Police officials deny scolding the star but she insists she was "shocked and surprised" by the warning because she would have done anything to protect her two-year-old daughter Ava, who was sleeping upstairs.

She says, "I think I did what any other mother would do... Any mother sitting here - and father for that matter - if you've got your baby girl sleeping upstairs, you will do anything (to protect a child) - and that counts wielding a knife at your patio doors. I don't regret a thing; I would do it again tomorrow to protect my baby girl."

Klass says the incident has highlighted the confusion about citizens' rights to self-defence in the U.K., adding, "I was left shocked and surprised when I was told that a private individual in the privacy of their own home runs the risk of committing a criminal offence if out of fear for their own safety and their loved ones, they grab something with which they could defend themselves if an intruder enters their home.

"I totally respect British law but surely everyone has the right to self defence in their own home if they are in danger?"
