MWg Launches Two New Mobile Phones Atom V and Zinc II In India

The Singapore-based company Mobile and Wireless group (MWg) has declared that it is foraying into the Indian mobile market with its latest products - Atom V and Zinc II - two Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional based phone handsets. The Atom V and Zinc II mobile phones are priced at Rs. 27,888 and Rs. 34,888 respectively. It now appears as if MWg is trying to revamp its popularity with these touchscreen devices, Atom V and slider model Zinc II.
 
The Atom V features a 2.8 inch TFT QVGA touch screen display apart from a two mega pixel CMOS Auto-Focus camera, Intel XScale 520 MHz processor, MicroSD increasable memory up to eight GB, 265MB Flash ROM and a 1,300mAh Li-Polymer battery which supports a talk time of more than three hours. At the same time, MWg’s new Atom V mobile phone also supports Quadband GSM, 3.5G HSDPA, WCDMA, EDGE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connectivity. The handset also incorporates SiRF Star III GPS receiver for GPS navigation.
 
The Zinc II, on the contrary, is a QWERTY-based slider phone and has a 2.8 TFT QVGA touch screen display with 240 X 320 resolution, two CMOS megapixel camera with 4x zoom, etc. The Zinc II also features an increasable MicroSD memory and 1,530mAh Li-polymer battery supporting around six hours of talk time. Further on, the handset has also got Quadband GSM, HSDPA, WCDMA, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connectivity. A special attraction is the ‘Quick Menu’ touch driven interface in the Zinc II mobile phone, which provides for finger driven intuitive navigation without the use of stylus.
