According to reports published in Pakistan newspapers, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has almost decided to quit his post soon after Pakistan Independence Day which is celebrated one day ago of India’s on August 14. According to Pakistan daily Waqt, higher sources from government have assured that Pervez has been offered a safe corridor to get out.

Earlier, there were reports that Pakistani political parties were ready to impeach him for the charges of murder, and destabilizing democracy in country. And, the same impeachment procedure had to be submitted in parliament. However, same report reveals that Musharraf is likely to ask for an opportunity to address the nation before formally submitting his resignation.

Reportedly, two of the four provincial assemblies in Pakistan have passed a resolution which asks Musharraf to go for a vote of confidence in parliament. And, the impeachment motion will be moved in the national assembly. There are bleak chances of Musharraf’s survival now, particularly when Punjab assembly which is the most powerful in Pak politics is not favoring him.
