Ace Malayalam actor Murali passed away yesterday around 8.20 pm at the PRS hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. 55 year old Murali who was highly diabetic, had been admitted after he had a renal failure and then a cardiac arrest. The actor came back only last week only from Cape Town in South Africa, where he was shooting for Surya’s Aadhavan, directed by K.S Ravikumar and produced by Udayanidhi Stalin.
Murali, was the Chairman of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy. The actor also has won four state awards for Adharam (1992), Kanakinavu (1996), Thalolam (1998) and Neyuthukaran (2001), and best supporting actor for Amaram (1992).
The funeral will be held today at 5 pm with state honours. His body will be kept at the VJT Hall in Thiruvananthapuram.
For Malayalam film industry it comes as a shock as it has lost three of its gems in the past 45 days - Lohitadas, Rajan P Dev and now Murali.
