Nashik is all set to get a new flight service from Mumbai as Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has given approval to the Maharashtra government's proposal to link Nashik with Maharashtra. The flight operated by Kingfisher Airlines is supposed to take-off on October 25, 2008. The ATR aircraft is supposed to carry 40 passengers at a time. The HAL is going to open an airport at Ozhar in Nashik for this purpose.

Besides offering facilities for the Kingfisher flight and transportation of cargoes, HAL will provide services like night parking and maintenance of aircraft. According to the managing director of HAL, PV Deshmukh, the company is in talks with Kingfisher regarding night-parking facility. A total of eight parking slots will be constructed by HAL.

Talking more about the Mumbai-Nashik flight, Deshmukh said that having a huge campus of 250 acres, the company will also think about building more parking slots. The airports in Mumbai are getting congested day-by-day so HAL will provide huge relief with its plan to come up with more airports. Besides these, the night parking facilities will enable the service provider to operate smoothly.
