Mumbai Indians handed an upsetting 29 run defeat to Virendra Sehwag led Delhi Daredevils at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, May 4, 2008. It was the second successive victory for Mumbai Indians and their first at home. The Shaun Pollock led team showed that they could even do without master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who is suffering from a groin injury and stayed away from playing the match.
Mumbai Indians set a modest score of 162 as the the Delhi Daredevils bowlers did not allow them to go for a big total. Delhi Daredevils captain Virendra Sehwag said that their bowlers performed extremely well to restrict the Mumbai Indian side but it was the batting failure that led to their defeat. Delhi was all out for a score of 133 as their wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Sehwag was the stop scorer of his team, getting 40 runs of 20 balls, with the help of three sixes and three fours.
