According to reports, the chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani is bidding for 51% stakes in the Liverpool football club. Reports also claim that Subroto Roy, chairman of Sahara Group is also in the fray for the one of the most successful clubs in football history.
 
American duo George Gillett and Tom Hicks ,the present owners of Liverpool had acquired the club in February 2007.There have been rumours of disagreement between both the partners leading to the club being opened for bidding with international buyers such as the Dubai International Capital showing interest for the club.
 
Mukesh Ambani, the seventh-richest man in the world is one among in talks for acquiring the club as pressure build up on Hicks and Gillett to sell the club. According to reports Ambani and Roy are bidding for a 51% stake which accounts to around 237 million pounds pay off.
 
Christian Purslow, the chief executive of Liverpool club has denied any kind of bidding made by Ambani and Roy but media says that the developments regarding approaches made by both top shots had started in November with some preliminary talks already been made.
