India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrated the win over Australia by spending time with wife Sakshi on Goa beaches. Just days before, India swept the Tests 2-0 and ODI series 1-0. Two one-day matches were called off due to rain.
India were the favourites in the series if we see the past record. But, the Aussies showed good challenge to Team India.
The third and final One-Day International between India and Australia was to be held in Goa on Sunday. But, that was washed away due to heavy rains.
India also achieved the distinct record of winning all the Test and ODI matches at home. India won the bilateral One-Day International series against Australia for the first time in 24 years. Last time India defeated Australia at home in 1986-87.
Australia are now the number one ranked ODI team in the world.
Meanwhile, Dhoni has praised the efforts of all the team mates for their excellent support.
