The captain of Indian cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been picked up in the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper's Test team of the year. Dhoni became the captain of the side. Apart from Dhoni, opener Gautam Gambhir has also been inducted in the side. Players were selected entirely on the basis performances in the year gone by. Morning Herald's team has specialist players in all positions.
Besides leading the Morning Herald's team, MS Dhoni has also been made the wicketkeeper of the team. Gambhir, who scored 1134 runs at an average of 70.88 from eight Tests this year, will have South African captain Graeme Smith as his opening partner. The test squad also has other international players like England skipper Kevin Pietersen and new found Sri Lankan spin sensation Ajantha Mendis. It is interesting to note that the newspaper has named Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds as the 12th man of the side.
