Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has launched its retail outlets of petrol and diesel. These would be named HiQ Value and Oval-XL in the market. These would be in operation in coming ten days said a company source. The company already has its outlets at Maddur on Bangalore-Mysore highway and now will have the outlets at Mangalore and Hubli in the next two months. According to the company sources it has license to open 500 outlets in the country but company is going slowly but surely with understanding the market for its products.
The newly launched products have already been tested in employee’s vehicles and will be available in competitive prices. To keep emission low the ‘HiQ Value’ and ‘Oval-XL’ petrol will have lower sulphur, benzene, and aromatic contents. In designing these products the efficiency of the engine and maintenance has been kept in the mind said a company source. The company has also entered in an agreement with Shell for joint venture named ‘Shell-MRPL Aviation Fuels and Services Pvt Ltd.’ This joint venture already has entered into a two year agreement with Jet Airways where the venture will supply 7,000 kilolitres of ATF to Jet Airways in Bangalore and Hyderabad airports
