KBC is back to fuel life on Sony Entertainment Channel for the first time ever, the host is megastar Amitabh Bachchan. So, let’s see if Mr. Bachchan is ready with his million dollar question?

The original star of KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati) is back on Sony, this time the show rights are not in the kitty of Star Plus. Amitabh Bachchan hosted the first two seasons of the show and then Shah Rukh Khan took the lead, but this time Big B is back to again create a magic with his effect.

He adds, “Sony made me an offer that I couldn’t refuse. That’s why I’m back.”

As a host Amitabh overpowered Shah Rukh and Big B’s popularity rate was even higher than King Khan. But the down to earth quotes, “I think it’s a fallacy that others were not able to do justice to the show.

Circumstances changes, the number of viewers change and the parameters used to decipher the success of a show changes. Shahrukh was extremely good, and I saw a lot of his episodes. He brought life to the show.”

However, Ajit Thakur, EVP and business head, SET, says, “Since it’s about both education and entertainment, he (Mr Bachchan) has the stature to pull it off credibly.

"Undeterred by Mr Bachchan’s uneven performance at the box office of late, the channel cites research showing that Mr Bachchan is more popular than ever before. While not getting into specifics of the new show, SET admits that there will be major innovations in the offing."

“Sony has pioneered format innovation, whether it’s Indian Idol, Big Boss or Fear Factor. We believe in bringing the family together with inclusive content. KBC has a legacy. There hasn’t been, and will never be a bigger show.”

So, everyone eyes Big B this time also for the success of the show on Sony and another noteworthy thing is that how the channel eventually makes the show a success in a cluttered and competitive environment with an inevitable shrinking audience’s attention.
