Director Mohit Suri is planning to make a film on the incidents of racial attacks on Indian students in Australia. When contacted the filmmaker stated that he already has a script in his mind and will start the shooting of the film in Australia by the end of this year. According to Suri, the film is based on the personal experience of a friend who had seen all the incidents. Mohit Suri wants to unravel the real cause of the racial attacks through his film.

According to an estimate, around 95,000 Indian students study in Australia. For the last couple of weeks or so, there have been some terrifying attacks on Indian students, both physical as well as verbal. Even the Aussie cops were severe on the Indian students protesting on the streets of the major cities of Australia. Many of the Bollywood celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan have openly condemned the brutal attacks on Indian students.

Several Bollywood films including ‘Heyy Babyy’, ‘Janasheen’, ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and ‘Salaam Namaste’ have been shot in Australia. Currently two of the Bollywood movies are expected to be shot in Australia. But a large number of Bollywood actors and directors have blamed the Australian government for not taking preventive steps as far as racial attacks are concerned. Apart from condemning the attacks on Indian students, Amitabh Bachchan even declined to accept an honorary degree from Brisbane University.

Big B had stated that it would be quite inappropriate to accept the honour from the university at this point of time. Several other Bollywood filmmakers have also refused to trip down to Australia in protest of attacks on Indians. However, Mohit Suri thinks otherwise and decided to shoot for his film in Down Under.
