Desperately want to send your loved ones the mesmerizing smell of roses! But they are so far that it will take days for the roses to reach. Don’t worry. Now you can send your near and dear ones fragrance from your mobile phones. Sounds strange, but this is true. NTT Communications are developing a technology through which you can send the sense of smell from your cell phones.

In this new technology the user will be able to select certain fragrance recipes and send them to an in home unit which will release various fragrances. 16 cartridges of base fragrances will be mixed to produce various smells. First of all the user has to choose the particular type of fragrance from the fragrance recipes from I- mode site of the cell phone. Once he or she does so, the instructions for making the scent are transferred to the fragrance device through infrared and the scent is emitted. If the distance is too far, then you can send the instructions to the device through e-mail.

NTT believes that the cost of the fragrance emitter will be around $195. The company has been developing this technology since 2004 and calls it “Kaori Tsushin". The technology will be on trial this month and 20 monitors will be giving its feedback.
