M&M, already a partner with Renault at Chennai car production center may enter into an agreement to become the distribution channel partner for all of Renault products in India. According to M&M source, the company is working on the various ways to take the relationship forward, and efforts are taken to farther relationship beyond the paradigm of Sedan joint venture at Chennai.

 

According to Pawan Goenka, President (Mahindra's Automotive Business), the partnership of M&M and Renault will include joint badging, cars sporting both Renault and Mahindra brand names etc. There has been similar opinion from Renault side on the fact where Renault official said that the firm is negotiating with the Mahindra group to develop and enhance existing relationship.

 

Renault official further said that while existing agreement is for production and distribution of Logan, Renault is looking for expanding the scope to include distribution of Renault cars through Mahindra-Renault joint venture. He revealed that joint badging was the 'stated intention' in the discussions and Mahindras brought in a good distribution reach for the company.
