In order to propagate awareness about the rich and vibrant culture and heritage of India, the Ministry of Tourism for the very first time has received a helping hand from a television network.  In a unique initiative, the Ministry of Tourism has tied up with NDTV to promote its Incredible India campaign and in the process explore and exhibit the country's rich heritage.

NDTV's nationwide '7 Wonders Campaign' was launched by the Tourism Minister Ambika Soni. About this tie-up, she said, 'India is a land of incredible wonders that has to be explored and admired. We hope that this year-long campaign will encourage people to visit and experience the beauty of our marvellous heritage properties and also safeguard them for our future generation.'

This tourism promotion campaign will receive support and co-operation from all state governments of the country, who will help in taking it to the grassroot level. Prannoy Roy, the Chairman of NDTV, remarked that India is home to amazingly beautiful creations of art and architecture. He added that they consider it a boon to have got a chance to collaborate with the tourism ministry on this project.

This will be an interactive project, in which people across the country will be asked to name seven best natural or man-made marvels in their respective states. The final seven wonders of India will be selected by a group of jury. The NDTV on the other hand will air a series of special programme on the selected heritage properties.
