American singer and actress Miley Cyrus best known for her role in Disney Channel original series Hannah Montana apologized on Sunday April 27, 2008 for posing sexually provocative pictures for Vanity Fair magazine. This move by Cyrus could have long lasting repercussions as far as her career is concerned. Billboard 200, a music album chart features three of her albums. Apart from that her career is at an all time high what with a box office hit, a sold out 2007 tour and a very popular television show.

 

The exact data of Cyrus's album sales won’t be available till May 7 ever since the story broke out. However according to Nielsen BuzzMetrics, the measurer of Blog traffic shows that between April 27 and April 29 there has been an increase of almost 150% in discussions regarding Cyrus's album 'Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert'. The above album was at No.3 on the Billboard 200 and Cyrus also has other two albums, Hannah Montana 2" (No. 34) and "Hannah Montana 2: Non-Stop Dance Party" (No. 141).

 

Cyrus is not the only Disney star one has been plagued by such scandals. Vanessa Hudgens and Lindsay Lohan are the other Disney channel stars who were earlier involved in similar scandals.
