Microsoft has launched its latest version of Zune media player, Zune HD, on Tuesday. This new version is accompanied by an upgrade to Zune PC software.
 
Zune HD sports an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) multi-touch screen, a new Quickplay menu, an NVIDIA Tegra HD processor and HD Radio capabilities as well a Web browser.
 
The new Microsoft Zune media player will enable the users to store and play 720p HD video files to a HDTV by means of Zune HD AV dock accessory. The HD content is available in the Zune Marketplace.
 
Zune HD is equipped with a built-in FM tuner, and sports a portable HD Radio receiver.
 
Zune HD also flaunts new casual games as well as non-gaming features like calculator and a Weather application from MSN.  Microsoft will be releasing free social networking applications like Twitter and Facebook for Zune by the end of 2009.
 
The other features which will be made available in Zune HD later this year include -games such as Project Gotham Racing: Ferrari Edition, Vans Sk8: Pool Service and Audiosurf Tilt.
 
Zune HD comes in two versions – a 16GB one and a 32GB one.  One can choose from the following colours – black (for 16 GB only), platinum (for 32 GB only), red, green and blue.
