Microsoft, which occupies the third slot after Google and Yahoo in the search engine segment, informed recently that it was going to show some improvements made in its Live Search. This announcement was made by chairman, Bill Gates recently and it indicates that Microsoft has a lot of plans lined up its sleeves. As per a source who is aware of the Microsoft Company’s plans, this spring update will probably also comprise newer kinds of vertical search as well as enhancement in the overall relevance of search queries.
The source adds that Microsoft must have especially concentrated on enhancing the shopping-specific search tools that was introduced in its Fall 2007 release. The company has also been busy revamping the appearance of its Live Search service that went live this week. Microsoft has been constantly endeavoring to get better in terms of search, especially in that segment where the consumers are looking for general web inquiries. Technological enhancements it has made recently has mainly focused on searches like image search, celebrity tracking, medical searches, etc.
