Microsoft To Come Up With Its Own Retail Stores

Software giant Microsoft is planning to introduce a series of retail outlets to display its products. The motive behind launching retail stores is to enable the customers to buy and check out a wide array of Microsoft products including XBox game console, Zune digital media player, Surface tabletop and computer gears. The company has appointed David Porter as corporate vice president of retail stores. Talking about his new appointment, Porter informed that his first and foremost task will be to decide when and where to open the Microsoft-branded stores.
 
David Porter also said that he is very much eager to go ahead with his responsibility of helping the consumers to make correct decision while purchasing PCs and softwares. Porter is expected to begin his work on February 16. According to statement to media, Microsoft said that it will use its retail stores to showcase Windows 7, Windows Mobile and Windows Live. 

The newly appionted corporate vice president of Microsoft stores, David Porter has an experience of 25 years at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Porter joined DreamWorks Animation SKG in 2007 as the head of worldwide product distribution. Microsoft is yet to decide on the locations of the proposed retail stores.
