According to Microsoft sources, it has agreed to buy web-based online survey company Greenfield Online for $486 Million. Under this buyout deal Microsoft will pay $17.50 per share to Greenfield Online. Earlier, in the month of June, Greenfield had informed that U.S. buyout firm Quadrangle Group was interested to buy it at $15.50 a share.
However, the deal did not turn out. Currently, the company, headed by Albert Angrisani on August 26 had asked for proposals from strategic buyers to offer more than what Quadrangle had offered. Accordingly, the proposal of any amount equal to or more than $17.50 per share would terminate merger agreement with Quadrangle, and Microsoft offered $17.50 per share to Greenfield.
