This was disclosed by the Office executive Kurt Del Bene at his keynote address at the Professional Developers Conference in Los Angeles.
The company has also announced the launch of its cloud based OS, Windows Azure. Apart from that two more demo applications which are to be launched at the same time are applications from Seadragon and Live Labs.
Microsoft is also planning to release its.Net Micro Framework as open source code. So it can be used by a wider community.
However, Microsoft has not included two of its features, TCP/IP stack and cryptography in the open-source code release.
Microsoft's Peter Galli said that they would be involved with the development of the.Net Micro Framework alongside the community.
