Even though there has not been any implementation of revenue-sharing between Google and Yahoo, Microsoft has contended its case in front of US department of antitrust laws that the deal between Google and Yahoo will hamper free competition. Google and Microsoft are appearing in the hearing by the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division and here only fate of the deal would be decided. Earlier two major search engines Google and Yahoo had agreed upon to share advertisement revenues which soon after the deal came under scrutiny of US Antitrust Law.
Interestingly, Google occupies 60 percent market share, 16.6 percent is Yahoo’s market share, both entered into a deal, and according to some trade law experts it would create monopoly in the market and would be in the violation of antitrust laws. The major disputing point between Microsoft and Google is, Microsoft wanted to buy Yahoo but Yahoo denied for any sale, reason being Microsoft's on-again, off-again efforts to buy all or part of Yahoo. Now Microsoft and Google are face to face in front of court of Justice.
