After getting two gold medals, Michael Phelps (USA) is incessant on his way to win more and more gold and set his own remarkable record in the Olympics. Phelps won gold medal in the Men's 200m Freestyle final at the National Aquatics Center in Beijing. This is the third gold medal won by Phelps at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
On Monday, Phelps was the forth-fastest qualifier into the finals with the time of 1:46.28. But the world record holder stepped up a gear when it was actually required in the finals. He completed the pursuit in 1:42.96 to beat his earlier world mark of 1:43.86 set in Melbourne. Park Tae-hwan from the Republic of Korea won the silver medal in 1:44.85, while Peter Vanderkaay of USA won the bronze medal in a time of 1:45.14.
