Jermaine Jackson has hit back at critics of his family's upcoming fly-on-the-wall documentary about the Jackson 5, insisting that his late brother Michael supported the project.
Camera crews have followed Jermaine, Marlon, Jackie and Tito Jackson all year for The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty, documenting the brothers as they mourned the death of youngest sibling Michael and prepared for a reunion of the group that helped them all find fame in the 1960s.
The series was originally intended to feature Jackson matriarch Katherine and husband Joe Jackson, while the Thriller hitmaker had chosen not to participate.
However, Jermaine insists the pop star was supportive, insisting, "That's what he would've wanted us to do, move forward."
Meanwhile, Marlon claims dropping the show was never an option, adding the project has been "uplifting" and an important part of the healing process for his brothers.
He explains, "It (Michael's death) was a surprise for us... But we had a commitment with the network."
U.S. network A&E will premiere the first of two two-hour episodes on 13 December (09).
