It seems that the world champion Michael Phelps is determined to get all the gold medals from the Beijing Olympics. He has won gold in the Men’s 200m Butterfly with a new world record time of 1:52.03. It is the fourth gold medal won by the defending lad at the Beijing Olympics 2008. He qualified as the fastest for the final in an Olympic Record time of 1:53.70.
Phelps again proved that he has the courage to overcome every challenge. He took the race out fast and hard as he is used to and the pace instantly hurt his competitors. His first split at 100m was 25.36. At the last turn, he was under world record pace with a split at the 150m of 1:22.75. Lazslo Cseh of Hungary won the silver medal with a time of 1:52.70. After being the second fastest qualifier for the final, Matsuda Takeshi of Japan managed to get the bronze medal with a time of 1:52.97.
