Perhaps sky is the limit for the American champion, Michael Phelps, who is resolute to win eight gold medals from the Beijing Olympic Games 2008.  Phelps has won his seventh gold medal at the Beijing Olympics, after winning the Men’s 100m Butterfly at the National Aquatics Center. To get this medal, Phelps had gone through a tough competition with Serbian Milorad Cavic who qualified fastest for the finals.

Phelps, who had qualified second fastest for the final, swam his best in the last 50m and won in an Olympian record time of 50.58sec. Milorad Cavic finished with the silver medal in a time of 50.59sec, just 0.01 sec behind the winning time. Certainly it was a close competition. Andrew Lauterstein of Australia had a great series of swims in the heats and semifinals to claim the bronze medal in 51.12sec.
