Renowned documentary & filmmaker, Michael Moore has announced the release of his new film online and that too free of cost. The film titled ‘Slacker Uprising’ is based on Moore’s journey through 62 cities during the 2004 US election. According to sources, the film will be available online for three-week duration for free downloading by North American residents. It is assumed that Moore might have borrowed the idea of releasing his film online from Radiohead, the US based music industry, which released its last album in a similar fashion in 2007.
However the 97-minute long ‘Slacker Uprising’ would be the first major film to be released in such a way. According to Moore, the film incurred a budget of two million US dollar and he would be paying an additional amount of one million US dollar for free online release. The movie can be downloaded online after signing up at SlackerUprising.com. The maker of controversial documentary film – ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’, Moore believes that this film would drive young people to vote this November.
