CBCID has divulged that it has got through with the murder mystery of MGR's son-in-law Vijayan.

The State Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Department (CBCID) has revealed that a family dispute over MGR's property had led to Vijayan's murder a few months ago. Also, the police has arrested late MG Ramachandran's adopted daughter for her alleged role in murder. Other than her, police has arrested four more people including a cop who had helped hire the gangsters.
 
Banu, one of the adopted daughters of the late chief minister, according to police got killed Vijayan by professional assassinators. Police version of the incident shows that there was a dispute regarding control of a family run school and Vijayan had come in Banu's way to control the same school. MGR had left his allotted 6.5 acre property to all his adopted children.
 
After the murder, Commissioner of Police of Chennai, R Sekar had said that the family of the former chief minister's relatives have long standing civil dispute over the deaf and dumb school and the Ramavaram gardens. He had formed seven teams to look into the case. Vijayan was a Jayalalithaa loyalist and had taken up legal battles against politicians like Vijayakanth.
