The world's leading car manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz has achieved yet another milestone by launching its all new hybrid passenger vehicle, S400 BlueHybrid. The new car from Mercedes is designed on the basis of S350. As a result of which much of the attributes of S350 can found in S400 BlueHybrid. Of course, the Mercedes engineers have brought a few changes including the driveline besides adding up a hybrid drive system.
The new S400 BlueHybrid will be the first product of collaboration between Daimler and BMW to develop a mild hybrid drive system .This Mercedes car incorporates 3.5L V-6 gas engine combined with the 15kW electric motor/generator. The manufactures have also integrated the car's battery with the climate control system of the vehicle so as ensure optimal temperature.
Endowed with a lithium ion battery the new S400 Blue Hybrid will enter the European market by 2009. According to the company officials, lots of effort and care have been taken in manufacturing the latest model of Mercedes. Keeping in mind the comfort factor of the passengers, the interior of the new S400 has been designed in such way so as to provide enough of leg room and head space.
