A new study conducted in the USA shows that meditation slows down AIDS progression. The researchers opined that it may be because of improved immune system, for it is widely accepted that meditation improves immune system and revitalizes human body and soul.

The study shows that meditation may slow the worsening of AIDS in just a few weeks. The study was conducted by team at the University of California Los Angeles. David Creswell, head of the study said that the people that were in this study class really responded and just really enjoyed the program.

According to the study the mindfulness program is a group-based and low-cost treatment, and if this initial finding is replicated in larger samples, it’s possible that such training can be used as a powerful complementary treatment for HIV disease, alongside medications.

David Creswell said that mindfulness meditation stress-management training can have a direct impact on slowing HIV disease progression. He concluded that it is unclear how the stress-reducing effects of meditation work. But, it may directly boost CD4 T-cell levels, or suppress the virus for sure.
