After a long wait Mecca mosque in Hyderabad has become the first in the world to have the closed circuit television (CCTV) control room. Under existing CCTV security system there are nine CCTVs, and 14 static cameras on its high walls. Also, there are six door frame metal detectors and six hand-held detectors. The total cost of the whole security infrastructure is Rs 36 lakh.
Nearly 25 Home Guards have already been posted for round the clock security in shifts. Ten lakh rupees have been devoted into their salaries. Earlier, the Shivananda Electronics, responsible for the establishment of CCTV security system agreed to train Home Guards to utilize ultra-modern security equipments. There is a brand new generator added to meet electricity challenges.
Minister for minority’s welfare and energy Mohammad Ali Shabbir assured of all help to members of the management committee. Also, he assured of the fulfilling the demand raised by the members for permanent umbrella-type sheds similar to the ones in Saudi Arabia. Earlier, the minister inaugurated the control room of the mosque and saw the whole affair inside the premises.
