Recent statements from Irish singer Brian McFadden have created controversy. Recently, he in some function in New Zealand opined that men should not wear pink color clothes for pink is like red which is a homosexual color. Gay rights activists have taken it sensitively and have accused him for his being a homophobic.
However, McFadden's latest single ‘Like Only A Woman Can’ released in Ireland on 2007 was a chartbuster and observers had started considering him a grown up, a more mature McFadden after the release of the song. Reportedly, gay right activists consider his statement an offensive for young are impressionable and any such comment makes them to consider the same as accepted norm.
Gay right activists have alleged that his comments are identical to racism where a person is differentiated and discriminated for he/she is a little bit different. They have a qualm that judging people just because they're a little bit different from mainstream is not right. However, there is nothing new in his being part of controversy, he has traditionally been accepted as immature in his statements.
