The Union Minister for Corporate Affairs Salman Khurshid has disclosed on Monday that Maytas Infra will have a new promoter, effective from today. Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Ltd, IL & FS, a leading infrastructure development and finance company, will be the new Maytas promoter.
"IL&FS will be the new promoter of Maytas Infra following an order of the CLB (Company Law Board)," Khurshid told the reporters in New Delhi.
IL&FS will be holding the largest stake in Maytas with about 37 percent share.
"IL&FS is the new promoter of the company with immediate effect," Khurshid said, adding that the existing promoter shareholders will go down.
He said two of the government appointed directors would stay on the board of the company for two years. But details on the officials of the new promoter have not been disclosed by Khurshid.
