Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati has once again intensified her attack on the Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and the central government. She once again threatened to withdraw support from the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) alliance on Saturday, April 19, 2008. She asked the young MP from Amethi to stop the ‘political drama’ he has been doing in the state.

The sharp comments from the BSP leader came a day after Rahul Gandhi staged a dharna in Jhansi in the Bundelkhand region. She attacked the MP saying that the Congress ‘Prince’ had inherited political power and hence has no sense and understanding of politics. The BSP supreme who has 17 members in the Lok Sabha stated that the government should concentrate on curbing inflation, or else she would withdraw support from the UPA government.

Mayawati told Rahul that as an MP from Uttar Pradesh, he should concentrate more on persuading the centre to implement special development package for the state and not indulge in political dramas. The Dalit leader asserted at the Press conference today that this is her last warning and after this she would directly send the letter of withdrawal of support, without any prior intimation to the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
