Japanese camera maker Matsushita is planning to launch a small SLR camera in the market soon. Incidentally, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd will be known as Panasonic from October month of this year. High-end models of SLR cameras with interchangeable lenses have been getting rave responses from consumers of digital camera.
However, users detest from using SLR cameras for it being bulky. This time targeting female users who want a high-performance machine that does not weigh too much Matsushita is planning to launch a small SLR camera. Currently, the firm produces Lumix brand digital cameras. The new product will be available in Japan from October 31.
Matsushita's small DMC-G1 is 27 percent smaller than its existing DMC-L10 SLR camera. Its weight is 385 grams. According to company source the price of the camera would be $839.5. The firm was ranked 59th in the Forbes list of big companies in the year 2007. It is among top in production of semiconductors in entire world.
