The master brain behind the attack on the Pakistan Army headquarters at Rawalpindi, Qari Ishtiaq, is now under the custody of Pakistan police.
Ishtiaq was giving directions for the attack over the phone. The attack, which happened for about 48 hours, had claimed the lives of 8 soldiers. 8 militants also lost life in the process.
Police also recovered four Kalashnikov rifles, 10 grenades, a rocket launcher and explosives from Ishtiaq. Seven other persons, who had been conspiring with Ishtiaq, have also been arrested from Gujranwala, Mailsi and Sargodha.
Ishtiaq is a senior leader of the Tehrik-e-Taliban in the Punjab province and a resident of Bahawalpur.
